Our Lady of the Assumption Sodality?

Our Lady of the Assumption Sodality is an active and diverse group of women who come together to serve our church, our school and the local community. Our hearts are truly united in service “To Jesus through Mary” – the Sodality motto.

The Saint Thomas the Apostle Chapter began in 1951 and we welcome women parishioners over the age of 18 to join us in this rewarding sisterhood. Keeping our faith at the center of our efforts, we work, pray and play together for the good of the parish, the community and each
other.

There really is something of interest for everyone. Sodality has 24 committees that provide the structure for ministries including, helping to clean the church, washing and ironing the linens, organizing receptions and special events, maintaining historical records, sending out a weekly
Prayer Call, offering high school scholarships and reaching out, through Junior Sodality, to enhance the spiritual growth of young girls in the parish. We also have fundraising events such as bake sales and raffles, to support the parish and school. In addition, we volunteer to help at organizations such as such St. Vincent de Paul, St. Mary’s Food Bank and the Sisters of Life who serve pregnant and vulnerable women.

We understand that our members’ family, work and life situations vary, so members are as active as their time allows.
 

Women interested in joining are known as Prospective New Members (PNM) and are required to attend a minimum of five informational meetings. The PNM meetings provide an opportunity to get to know each other and learn about the different committees and Sodality’s vibrant role in our parish. Three of them are smaller group meetings scheduled from 9-11 a.m. on the following Saturdays in 2026 – February 7, March 14 and April 11. The additional two meetings can be chosen from General Membership Meetings held monthly from September through April, 5:30 - 7:30pm.
 

A special Installation Mass is scheduled for Saturday, May 2, 2026 to welcome new members who will be consecrated to our Blessed Mother. The new officers also will be installed during this Mass and a luncheon celebration caps this day of blessings. We hope you will consider joining us!
